Four editorial selections, each answering a different question. Every selection is built from verified facts on the universities' own pages against published criteria, listed alphabetically and never sold. Pick the list that matches your decision, then compare the programs side by side.

Use it if: You are choosing a university and want one with a range of verified data science degrees, not a single program.
Schools with at least three verified, eligible data science degrees (dedicated or joint) across two or more degree levels. Related degrees with only a data science concentration do not count toward a school's inclusion.

Use it if: You want a master's in data science in any format and care about curriculum, an applied capstone or research component, published costs and clear admissions.
Dedicated master's degrees in data science and joint master's degrees whose official title names data science. Related degrees with only a data science concentration are not eligible.

Dedicated and joint data science master's degrees offered fully online or online with required in-person attendance. Hybrid programs with substantial in-person coursework are not eligible for this list.

Use it if: You are choosing an undergraduate major and want a documented curriculum with an applied or capstone component.
Dedicated bachelor's degrees in data science and joint bachelor's degrees whose official title names data science (for example Statistics and Data Science). Degrees with only a data science concentration are not eligible.

Use it if: You want a research doctorate with published funding.

The directory pages (for example all master's programs) list every eligible program we have verified, alphabetically, so you can filter by state, format, cost or GRE policy. The selections apply an editorial bar on top: a program appears only when its own official pages document the features the criteria ask for. Each entry explains why it was selected, its strengths and limitations, the applicants it suits, and the evidence behind each criterion.
No acceptance rates, salaries, job-placement or graduation rates, reputation surveys or institutional rankings — we have not verified comparable figures for these programs. A university's prestige in other fields does not carry over to its data science degrees.
Searches for the best or top data science programs land here. There is one selection per question — not separate “best” and “top” lists with different titles and the same content.
